Avatar: The Way of Water's appearance of Edie Falco as General Frances Ardmore, a new military leader on Pandora, is one of the film's most pleasantly surprising moments.
As Earth is deteriorating and humanity will soon require a new, permanent home, Ardmore is on a quest to make Pandora hospitable for humans. Those who have not seen the movie yet can be excused for not knowing that Falco plays a significant supporting part in the "Avatar" trilogy because the four-time Emmy winner was not prominently featured in any promotional materials. Even Falco herself was unaware of the film's intended release date.
Falco recently admitted during an interview that she shot her parts for "Avatar: The Way of Water" more than four years ago. Falco had thought the movie had already been released in theatres and didn't do too well because there had been so much time between the time of filming and the release date.

Humans of ‘Avatar’ universe are not very humane… in the trailer, it is hinted that, unlike the first movie where they were just fishing for unobtainium, a rare mineral, this time around the ‘Sky People’ (humans) intend to colonise Pandora, as the earth has become inhabitable.
