‘Avatar’ star Sam Worthington regrets some career choices, says ‘I could’ve handled things differently’

Sam Worthington has stated that he regrets some professional decisions he made before landing the main role in Avatar. He says his 'arrogance' led to a 'terrible fight’ on Wrath of the Titans.

Sam Worthington has said that, since getting the lead role in Avatar, he wishes he had done some things differently. The Australian star was picked out of obscurity to play Jake Sully in James Cameron's 2009 blockbuster. After that, he was cast in a number of Hollywood roles.

Perseus was one such character in 2010. In the sequel to Clash of the Titans, Worthington reprised his role. Wrath of the Titans, which came out in 2012. Worthington, on the other hand, did not look back fondly on the experience and, in one instance, stated that he made the situation tough for himself.

Worthington said in a recent interview that "You can't construct a role if nothing is there", "That was the issue on The Clash Movies". “The films I made immediately following Avatar were very large, but I should have chosen films that stick a little deeper into the human condition”.

He continued, “My ego clashed with the concept of the studio and the director, and it involved a horrific conflict with them". "I should have managed things better and differently instead of turning there with a large tummy on the first day”.

He also discussed how he lost the James Bond job to Daniel Craig. The actor, whose recent works include the television series ‘Under the Banner of Heaven’, is presently starring in’ Avatar: The Way of Water’, Cameron's first sequel to the 2009 blockbuster.
