Avatar: Fire and Ash: When will it release? Everything we know about James Cameron’s upcoming movie

The first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third film in the Avatar series, premiered at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. James Cameron presented the footage in a pre-recorded video. This film continues the story of Jake Sully and Neytiri on the moon of Pandora.

New Trailer

Attendees at CinemaCon received 3D glasses to view the trailer. The footage has not yet been released to the public. The trailer begins on Pandora and reveals two new Na’vi clans. The Wind Traders live in the sky using balloon-like vehicles. The Fire People ride flying Ikran creatures. A battle breaks out between the clans, and one Na’vi is struck with a flaming arrow.

Storyline

The film picks up after the end of The Way of Water. Jake Sully and Neytiri continue their battle against the Resources Development Administration (RDA). The family also faces a new enemy—the Ash People. The story covers many locations, including oceans, skies, forests and mountains. Jake and Neytiri seek help from the Metkayina, a water-based Na’vi clan.

New Clans and Characters

Zoe Saldaña, who plays Neytiri, presented the footage. She explained that the Wind Traders are a peaceful, nomadic clan. The Ash People are former Na’vi who no longer follow the deity Eywa. In one scene, the Ash clan leader tells Neytiri that her goddess has no place among them.

Release Date

Director James Cameron did not attend CinemaCon in person. He appeared in a recorded message and said the film is nearing completion. He explained that the Sully family faces challenges from both the RDA and the Ash People. He also confirmed that the next film in the series will be released on December 19, 2025.

Future Releases

Following Avatar: Fire and Ash, two more films are scheduled. Avatar 4 is planned for release on December 21, 2029. Avatar 5 is set to arrive on December 19, 2031.
