Autumn Variations: Ed Sheeran announces new album. Details here
Singer Ed Sheeran has announced the upcoming release of his latest album titled "Autumn Variations," produced by Aaron Dessner. The album will be available via his label Gingerbread Man Records on September 29. The announcement comes shortly after...

Sheeran explained, "During the previous fall, my friends and I experienced many changes. Following the summer's heat, things either settled, broke, peaked, or crumbled. Writing songs helped me comprehend my emotions when I faced challenges early last year. I also wrote songs from my friends' and my perspectives as we navigate various situations. These songs capture our outlook on the world at that time. The tracks encompass falling in love and forming new friendships, as well as dealing with heartbreak, depression, solitude and confusion."
Sheeran shared that he drew inspiration from his father and brother's introduction to composer Elgar and his Enigma Variations album. This collection comprised 14 compositions, each inspired by a distinct friend. "This served as the inspiration behind my album," he stated. Sheeran praised his collaboration with Aaron Dessner while creating the album 'Subtract.' Their partnership birthed a continuous flow of songwriting and recording, ultimately leading to the birth of this new album. He expressed his admiration for Dessner's ability to capture autumn's essence through his sonic choices. 'Autumn Variations' follows Sheeran's previous release 'Subtract'.
