Atlanta Braves's outfielder Marcell Ozuna spends over 3 hours in prison. Here's why
Norcross police arrested Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna as he had 'red/watery eyes' and was driving under the influence of alcohol.

The conduct of Marcell Ozuna came under question when he was found under the influence of alcohol while driving car at 4:39 AM. The superstar of baseball, who plays for the Atlanta Braves, was stopped by the police, who were on a watch, after a suspected dangerous lane change.
On being charged for drunk driving after having failed the breathalyser test, he was taken into custody by police officials of Gwinnett County. He spent around 3 hours and 40 minutes in jail. Around 8 AM, he was able to post his bond and released from jail.
Ozuna had in May 2021 agreed to attend a diversion programme after he was recorded on a body camera strangulating his wife. The police were called into his Georgia home in Sandy Springs when he beat up his wife.
It is mandatory to be referred to a joint treatment board as per the rules of the MLB, which evaluates what the total punishment would be. This is only if a player is caught driving under the influence (DIU). Ozuna has displayed remorse in front of the press and agreed he has disappointed plenty of people along with his teammates and family. He refused to take any further questions when asked.
The 'Big Bear' as he is lovingly called, has a $65 million contract with the Atlanta Braves. In 2021, the Braves hired 3 outfielders and went on to win the World Series without him. The Braves in their official statement said that they were deeply disappointed, and that they take these matters very seriously. Time will tell what is in store for the 'Big Bear' after the legal procedure is complete.
