After a kiss cam surprise, Astronomer CEO faces internal backlash, staff reactions hint at a deeper story
The CEO of data software company Astronomer, Andy Byron, has come under fire after a video of him getting cozy with a colleague at a Coldplay concert went viral. This incident has triggered backlash from former employees and renewed scrutiny of his leadership style.

Byron, who has been married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, was spotted on the stadium’s “kiss cam” in an apparent romantic moment with Kristin Cabot, the company’s chief human resources officer. The scene unfolded during a Coldplay performance at Gillette Stadium, where the two were seen embracing and holding hands. When they realized they were on camera, Cabot turned away and covered her face, while Byron attempted to duck out of the frame.

The incident sparked immediate speculation online, with many users questioning the nature of the relationship and its implications in a corporate setting.

What did his former employee say

A former employee who once reported directly to Byron told The Post that many ex-staffers felt the incident was karmic.

“The text groups and chains of former employees are like, everybody’s laughing their ass off and enjoying the hell out of what happened and him getting exposed,” the person said.

The former colleague described Byron as a “toxic” and “sales-obsessed” leader with a reputation for aggressive behavior in the workplace. They added that the incident has brought a sense of schadenfreude among former staff members who claim to have experienced or witnessed difficult conditions under his leadership.

Byron was appointed CEO of the New York-based firm in July 2023. Under his leadership, Astronomer closed a $93 million Series C funding round in May 2025, with investments from Bain Capital, Salesforce Ventures, and other prominent backers. At the time, the company stated the funds would be used to “expedite research and development and strategically expand its international presence.”

Who is Kristin Cabot?

Cabot, Astronomer’s chief people officer, divorced her husband, Kenneth Thornby in 2022, according to Massachusetts court documents. There is no record of her having remarried. Byron is still believed to be married to Megan Kerrigan Byron. Photos of the couple with children have circulated online in the wake of the controversy.

Footage from the concert shows Coldplay frontman Chris Martin reacting in real time to the camera’s reveal, joking:

“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

“Holy sh-t. I hope we didn’t do something bad,” Martin added moments later.
