AST SpaceMobile Inc. (ASTS) stock jumped over 13% on Thursday, hitting an all-time high before slightly dropping later. The stock became one of the top trending tickers on Stocktwits, showing strong retail interest.

AST SpaceMobile announced that it successfully made Canada’s first-ever space-based 4G VoLTE voice call, broadband data connection, and video streaming using normal smartphones. This was done in partnership with Bell Canada.

AST SpaceMobile said on X, “With rollout planned for 2026, the successful demonstration in New Brunswick brings us closer to delivering reliable, high-speed mobile broadband for Canadians everywhere, even in the hardest-to-reach areas”, as per the report by Stocktwits.


The company also revealed on Tuesday that it completed the final assembly and testing of its first next-generation Block 2 satellite, Bluebird 6. AST SpaceMobile added that Bluebird 6 is ready for its first flight, which will be carried aboard an Antonov cargo plane to India.

Investor excitement and analyst upgrade

Retail sentiment on Stocktwits trended in ‘extremely bullish’ territory, showing strong investor excitement. Bell Canada said that space-based cellular connectivity will help provide vital emergency services and bridge the gap in Canada’s hardest-to-reach areas, as per the report by Stocktwits.

Bell Canada also mentioned, “The successful space-based direct-to-cell connectivity demonstration lays the groundwork for the company’s planned deployment of low-Earth-orbit direct-to-cell service in 2026”.

On Wednesday, Barclays analysts raised their price target for AST SpaceMobile to $60 from $37 and kept an ‘Overweight’ rating. Barclays noted that while T-Mobile US and SpaceX’s Starlink offer text-only service for $10 a month, AST SpaceMobile’s service supports text, calls, and broadband, which could justify a higher price ASTS stock is performing extremely well, up 201% year-to-date and 166% in the last 12 months, as reported by Stocktwits.
