Ashley Judd reveals that the police response was terrible and made her feel like she was a possible suspect in her mother's death. She claimed to have felt powerless and cornered during the inquiry. She revealed she was holding her mother's labouring body as the police arrived. She said she spoke to law enforcement during that testing time as humans are expected and socially conditioned to do so.

How the procedure felt

She said she answered gushingly, as she had to undergo four interviews the day her mother died. She says she would have never answered those questions on any other day. She felt uncomfortable and asked herself if she was being heard and recorded and if her interview would be made public.

She claimed the interviews with the police seemed mandatory, and she wanted to comfort her mother as her life was fading away. Ashley believes that the police who arrived at her home followed the most outdated and terrible interview procedures. She believed she was a possible suspect due to how the police conducted their investigation. She wants them to be better at responding to traumatic situations.

Save it from the public

Ashley Judd also spoke about how her family fought to keep her mother's investigative file from the public eye, including the police interviews. She believes that this intimate medical and personal information does not belong on the internet, in the press, or anywhere else except within our memories.

Naomi Judd committed suicide on April 30, and her daughters shared the sad news on social media. They wrote that the two sisters had experienced a tragedy and had lost their mother due to mental illness. They jointly mentioned they were shattered, and everyone loved their mother. They felt left in unknown territory. A few weeks before the suicide, Wynonna and Naomi performed at the CMA's. The two were also going to go on tour after ten years.
