In that film, audiences witness Nick Fury and the main character making a promise to assist the shape-shifting Skrulls in finding a new home.

"Secret Invasion," set five years after the Blip, sees the Skrulls returning to Earth and taking matters into their own hands. Talos seeks Fury's help against an impending Skrull attack. The series explores whether the Skrulls will conquer Earth and who will stop them without the Avengers. It pretty much sums up what to expect.
