The trailer of 'Halloween Ends' is out now. It shows a bloody battle between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, as the Halloween movie franchise is supposedly reaching its final chapter.

'Halloween Ends' is the final part of a trilogy, which includes Halloween (2018) and Halloween Kills (2021). It will be the 13th movie in the Halloween series, originally created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. In the new trailer, Jamie Lee, who plays Laurie Strode, can be seen fighting the masked murderer Myers, played by James Jude Courtney.

Will Halloween series end?

The last year’s Halloween Kills had a sensational ending, where Myers killed Karen and Laurie stepping out of the hospital. As the name suggests, 'Halloween Ends' will likely see the end of Myers, who couldn’t be killed by Tommy’s mob. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on October 14 this year.

History of Halloween movies

The first Halloween movie was released in 1978, with sequels released in 1981, 1982, 1988, 1989 and 1995. The franchise came up with a new storyline in 1998, with Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, the sequel of which, Halloween Resurrection, was released in 2002. Subsequently, the franchise had another two-part storyline, Halloween (2007) and Halloween (2009).

Halloween trilogy

The latest trilogy in the franchise has been directed by David Gordon Green, who’s also a part of the screenplay writers. The trilogy, which is expected to conclude with Halloween Ends, is produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. Ending the second movie at an hugely crucial moment, we can expect the director to go for a full-blown attack to conclude the trilogy.

Box-office collections

While the first two films failed to score big with the critics, their box office collections were decent. The first movie grossed around $255.6 million, while the second movie raked around $131.6 million. It is worth noting that the second movie’s collection came in the post-pandemic era when movies were just starting to be rolled out in theatres. We can expect a similar performance from 'Halloween Ends' as well.
