The man who had been arrested in Maryland, near the house of Justice B. Kavanaugh, has been charged with threatening or attempting to kill or kidnap a US Judge.

The department revealed that the man is 26 years old and goes by the name Nicholas John Roske. He's a resident of Simi Valley, California. The department further added that Roske had called the authorities, stating that he was suicidal and was having such thoughts. According to the criminal complaint, the man also had a firearm in his suitcase.

When interrogated further, the man revealed that the reason for his travel from California was to murder a judge of the Supreme

Court of the States. The FBI affidavit, filed on the same day, also had the same information. The affidavit also added that because of the leak of the opinion of the Supreme Court on abortion rights and the forthcoming gun control laws due to the school shooting case in Texas (Uvalde), Roske was considerably "upset" by the SC.

An FBI agent pointed out that the man thought the Justice he intended to kill would give decisions in support of the Second Amendment, and hence the gun controls would get loosened up. The agent added that Roske had started to think about the ways in which he would be able to give his life a purpose and, therefore, decided to kill the Supreme Court Justice and kill himself afterward.

How was John Roske caught?
Roske had a suitcase with a backpack containing a Glock 17 pistol, a tactical knife, ammunition, two magazines, zip ties, and pepper spray. He was seen outside the house of a Justice of the US Supreme Court and was caught there.

What did Roske say in the trial?
When asked by the District Judge whether he was able to understand the intensity of his charges, Roske replied that he was under the effect of a medication, due to which he was not in a clear state of mind.

What is the response of the White House?
The White House, in "strongest terms, condemns this act of the man.
President also said that he was very grateful to the department of law enforcement that they quickly took Roske into custody.
The spokespersons said that it is a known fact that President clearly believes that all the public officials and the judges should be able to do their jobs without any risk or threat to them or their families' safety. Violence and intimidation attempts should not be a part of society.
