Argentina will play Chile in South American Qualifiers for FIFA World Cup 2026. Reigning soccer World Cup and Copa America winners have won five out of six matches so far. Chile, on the other hand, have managed to secure only five points from six games.

Six teams from South America will directly qualify for 2026 soccer world cup which will be held in the US, Mexico and Canada. The 7th team will need win the world group of playoff.

Argentina versus Chile World Cup qualifiers will kick off at 8 pm (ET) on Thursday, September 5. The soccer game between Argentina and Chile will be live streamed on UNIVERSO.

Lionel Messi was injured while playing for Argentina in the Copa America final on July 14. He returned to group training with Inter Miami earlier this week.

By not playing Saturday, it means the earliest that Messi will participate in a match again is September 14 when Inter Miami faces Philadelphia. He was not selected to play in Argentina's World Cup qualifying matches in early September.
