Arc Raiders Patch 1.11.0: Abyss cosmetic set added, Kettle fire rate changed and other fixes revealed
Developer Embark Studios has released Arc Raiders Patch 1.11.0, introducing a new cosmetic offering alongside a series of gameplay fixes and balance changes aimed at addressing long-standing player concerns. The update brings the Abyss cosmetic set to the extraction shooter while reworking two frequently debated items — the Kettle weapon and the Trigger ‘Nade grenade.

The patch marks one of the more significant balancing updates since the game’s launch, with Embark acknowledging community feedback around fairness and competitive integrity.

Abyss cosmetic set added

Among the headline additions in Arc Raiders Patch 1.11.0 is the Abyss cosmetic set. While purely aesthetic, the new set expands customisation options for players and aligns with Embark’s ongoing effort to introduce non-gameplay-affecting content alongside mechanical updates.

The studio has not yet detailed whether further cosmetic drops are planned in the immediate roadmap, though it has indicated that additional rewards are expected as part of ongoing community celebrations.

Kettle fire rate reduced

One of the most notable gameplay changes in the update concerns the Kettle weapon. Embark Studios confirmed that the Kettle’s fire rate has been reduced from 600 to 450.

In a developer note, Embark explained that the previous fire rate was largely achievable only through the use of macros, creating an uneven playing field. According to the studio, the change is intended to curb reliance on third-party software while preserving the weapon’s core effectiveness.

The adjustment is expected to bring the Kettle more in line with other weapons in its class and reduce frustration during competitive encounters.

Trigger ‘Nade rebalanced for PvP fairness

The Trigger ‘Nade has also undergone significant changes in Arc Raiders Patch 1.11.0. Embark acknowledged that the grenade had become dominant in player-versus-player situations, with players increasingly favouring it over alternative grenade options.

To address this, the developer has reworked its damage profile. Damage falloff has been adjusted to concentrate impact closer to the explosion’s centre, while reducing damage dealt to targets further away. This makes precise placement more important.

In addition, the delay between triggering the grenade and detonation has been increased from 0.7 seconds to 1.5 seconds. The longer delay gives opponents more time to react and makes it harder to use the grenade effectively in mid-air detonations, while retaining its usefulness as a sticky explosive.

Exploit fixes and environmental adjustments

Beyond balance changes, the update also fixes a key card exploit that allowed players to retain room keys after use, an issue that had been flagged by the community as disruptive to progression and fairness.

Lighting has also been adjusted in select areas of the Stella Montis Night Raid. Embark said reduced lighting would make flashlights and sound cues more relevant, encouraging slower and more tactical play during night missions.

Arc Raiders’ continued momentum

Arc Raiders remains one of the most prominent titles in the extraction shooter genre, having sold over 12 million copies since its launch in late October. Embark Studios recently announced a free in-game gift for all players to mark the game’s continued success.

The update arrives amid ongoing discussions around aggression-based matchmaking and aim assist, both of which continue to generate debate within the player community.
