“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” didn't do well at the Christmas box office. As per media reports, it earned only $28 million over the weekend and about $40 million during the whole holiday time. Even though it got the top spot, it's not doing as well as people hoped. The movie cost $205 million to make.

Compared to other superhero movies this year, like "The Marvels," it's not doing so well.

However, this year has been tough for DC movies. "The Flash," "Shazam! Fury of the Gods," and "Blue Beetle" all didn't do well at the theaters.

Aquaman is the last DC movie of the year, and it's not off to a great start. It got some bad reviews, and people aren't talking about it much.

Usually, December movies start slow but get better as the new year begins.

"Aquaman" in 2018 didn't do great in the beginning, but it ended up making a lot of money.

This Christmas, there are other movies like Warner's "The Color Purple," Neon’s "Ferrari," and George Clooney’s "The Boys in the Boat." The hope is that more people will go to the movies on December 25th.

But, overall, this holiday season doesn't have a big blockbuster like "Spider-Man: No Way Home" or "Avatar: The Way of Water."
