Apple is set to go all guns blazing in an attempt to dominate the phone markets in the coming months as their latest iOS 18 update is rolling in this fall with some super-exciting features that makes the iPhone user experience much more enhanced and interactive. According to a previous ET report, artificial intelligence will be the root addition to Apple iPhones as they have inked a deal with ChatGPT creators OpenAI whose supremo Sam Altman is optimistic about the future of this partnership and the fruits it is going to bear.

iOS 18 to bring in brand-new features for texters

If this was not enough, iOS 18, along with AI-powered features, will bring in new options around customization of home screens, a dedicated app lock system, enhanced privacy and security options, and much more.

Some significant changes will be seen in Apple's own texting and messaging app, iMessage, that will include read receipts, showing if the person who received your text has read it or not. This feature is typically seen on WhatsApp and similar online texting applications. Moreover, the dedicated message app is now supporting Rich Communication Services (RCS), that means, high-resolution images and videos can also be sent through this medium, without a hassle.

iMessage's 'tapback' feature undergoes transformation

Another major change will happen to the Apple messaging's 'tapback' feature, that involves reacting via an emoji to any text message. The tapback options will see a facility to include any emoji or sticker on your phone as your reaction and would not stay limited to just 5-6 reaction emojis.

Apple's custom messaging: Setting up 'Happy Birthday' or 'Good Morning' texts easier like never before

Customized messaging facility will also be available on iMessage from now, that will help you set messages you can send at a later time. For example, if you forget to wish someone a 'Happy Birthday' usually, you can now easily do so, by setting up the time and date of the message and it will flawlessly reach your loved ones, right on the occasion.

Moreover, iPhone users will still be able to use iMessage using satellite connectivity even when there is no cell reception or Wi-Fi.
