Apple founder Steve Jobs's widow buys $70 million mansion.
Laurene Powell Jobs, president of Emerson Collective and widow of Apple founder Steve Jobs, paid $70 million for a San Francisco house. With this purchase, the record for the most expensive house ever sold in the city is broken. Nestled between the residences of Apple designer Jonathan Ive and Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison, the property is situated in the opulent Pacific Heights neighborhood and provides a panoramic view of the Golden Gate Bridge, as per the reports of MSN.

Past tenants and property details

The previous owners of the mansion were billionaire's daughter Sloan Lindemann Barnett and her husband Roger Barnett, who owns a company that makes health supplements. The property was bought by the Barnetts in 2011 for $33 million after it was first offered for almost $100 million. The house is about 17,000 square feet and was constructed in 1916.

In 2020, Architectural Digest featured the home as a Spanish Renaissance Revival Palacio with a two-story courtyard covered in a large glass roof. The mansion's renovation took more than three years to finish, and the previous owners engaged renowned architect Peter Marino to do it. Marino combined contemporary elements with the original floor plan and important features. Critics have praised the home as "the most beautiful house in all of America."

The property has large outside spaces, including a roof deck and a second-floor balcony, according to aerial photos. This purchase is only one of Powell Jobs's many well-known purchases this year. She recently paid $94 million for an oceanfront property in Paradise Cove, Malibu.
