‘Apocalypse Now’ star Frederic Forrest dies

Hollywood actor Frederic Forrest died Friday in Santa Monica at the age of 86. The versatile actor is best known for his memorable role in Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Apocalypse Now’. This movie was based on the Vietnam War. He was nominated for an Oscar award for his role in ‘The Rose’ in the same year, 1979.



His ‘The Rose’ co-star Bette Midler paid rich tribute to him and fondly remembered the days spent with him. He tweeted, “The great and beloved Frederic Forrest has died. Thank you to all of his fans and friends for all their support these last few months. He was a remarkable actor and a brilliant human being, and I was lucky to have him in my life. He was at peace.”
