Angelina Jolie and her daughter Zahara have supported the rights of women for several years. At the end of 2021, they travelled together to Washington DC to meet legal representatives.

In a proud moment for Hollywood stars, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt is all set to attend Spelman College. Ethiopian-born Zahara was adopted by Jolie in 2005 when she was just six-month-old.

Angelina Jolie took to social media to congratulate her daughter, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, on securing a place at Spelman College. Calling Zahara a Spelman sister, Jolie congratulated all the other students, who would be attending the college with her daughter.

Angelina's Instagram account also mentioned that Jolie was honoured that a family member is all set to become a "Spelman girl". She commented on the photo of her daughter, Zahara, posing with other girls, who would be attending the college with her in the fall.



The liberal arts college in Georgia is a part of the Atlanta University Centre, a consortium of four Black schools in America. Spelman College is one of the two American colleges for Black women.

The other three schools include Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University and the Morehouse School of Medicine.

Spelman College has made a name for itself in the education field. Some famous alumni include Alice Walker, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, who wrote 'The Color Purple; Stacey Abrams, the former representative from Georgia, and Keshia Knight Pulliam, an actress, who starred in The Cosby Show.

Angelina and her daughter Zahara have supported rights of women for several years. At the end of 2021, they travelled together to Washington DC to meet legal representatives. They aimed to strengthen the protection of all groups under the Violence Against Women Act.

During her visit, Angelina posted on her social media account that she was honoured to visit Washington DC with her daughter for their collective ambition. She wrote that they were fighting to protect the safety and health of children, communities of the tribe, colour, rural areas, LGBTQ survivors and others.

While they were married, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopted six children. Zahara Marley is one of them. She is an Ethiopian child orphaned when her parents died of AIDS in 2005.

Angelina and Pitt travelled to Africa to complete the legal proceedings of adopting Zahara and her older brother Maddox after their parents died. Besides Zahara and Maddox, the couple shares four other kids named Shiloh, twins Knox, Vivienne and Pax. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, however, are now divorced.
