Andy Murray is back at the US Open after ten years since his big maiden victory in the state of New York. The legendary British player was playing his first match on an opening day at Flushing Meadows. The match ended up being a tricky first-round tie.

Murray has been facing a lot of issues and injuries since the buildup to the tournament. He has suffered cramps when playing hard-court swing in North America. Murray believes he will gain his best form in the US Open and aspires to be in the fourth round of a major tournament.

If he achieves this, it will be his first time since the last game in 2017.

The US tournament will start on August 29, Monday. It will continue to go on for two weeks. The men's singles final will take place on September 11, and the women's singles final will take place on September 10.

Andy Murray is set to play against Francisco Cerundolo in his first round in New York. Cerundolo has been seeded in the 24th position. However, the Argentinian has never won a match in the main draw at any grand slam. In July, Cerundolo took his title as the senior member of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) at the Swedish Open.

Murray vs. Cerundolo will open on the court of Louis Armstrong Stadium.

It will begin in the evening at four in British Summer Time (eleven in the morning in Eastern Standard Time).
