Former influencer, Andrew Tate who was also once a kickboxing world champion, has been detained in Romania since late December 2022 along with his brother Tristan and two other suspects.

Since late December 2022, Andrew Tate, his brother and two other suspects have been jailed in Romania on charges of rape and human trafficking offences after Tate lost the appeal to end his detention in the month. All four of them have denied charges.
Former influencer, Andrew Tate was also once a kickboxing world champion and has previously referred to married women as “property” owned by their husbands. Amid his detention in Romania, local media reported that two Romanian women who are also detained by authorities will now be held under house arrest.
Andrew Tate, who has dual British-US citizenship, has been already banned from Instagram, Facebook and YouTube over infringement of rules on “dangerous individuals” and violating hate speech policy. He was even barred from Twitter in 2017 until his account was restored in November 2022 along with those of former US President Donald Trump and rapper Kanye West after Elon Musk took over the microblogging website. Tate has 4.9 million followers on Twitter.
Earlier this month, Andrew Tate claimed that he was innocent and said that there is no evidence for the charges against him. He even said, “You’ll find out the truth of this case soon”. Andrew Tate and his brother were detained on December 29, 2022, and Romanian authorities reportedly said that they had seized goods and money work nearly £3.25 million from his villa.
