As a part of the Star Wars Celebration fan convention in London, Lucasfilm presented a sneak peek of Season 2 of its Disney+ show "Andor" on Friday.

In September, the initial season of "Andor," which was made and executive produced by Tony Gilroy, co-writer of "Rogue One," was praised for its extensive portrayal of the formation of the Rebel Alliance. The 12-episode season, which is set five years prior to "Rogue One," monitors Cassian Andor's (Diego Luna) transformation from a cynical criminal to a man who is willing to fight against the Galactic Empire.

Gilroy stated that the team is working as fast as they can to complete Season 2, which began filming in November and is expected to finish in August. According to the creator, the show is expected to air on Disney+ in August 2024.

"Andor '' was the latest Star Wars series on Disney+. It provides Cassian Andor's life story, one of the heroes in the 2016 film "Rogue One," who assisted in stealing the Death Star plans. Earlier, while speaking about 'Andor' Season 2, Collider's Steve Weintraub had joined Tony Gilroy to talk about the show.

As previously quoted by Collider, according to Tony Gilroy, the creator of "Andor," due to the COVID-19 pandemic's impact, the production time of the first season was hindered, and that’s why the first season of the program took roughly three years to film and edit, irrespective of the fact that a 12-episode season of a TV show takes around nine months to film.

As a result, it appears like the second and final seasons of "Andor" will also take place within a similar time frame as Season 1. According to Gilroy, "If the past is predicated, and we do the same thing we did before, it'll be on the same schedule. It will come out in two years."

Ultimately, it is more clear now that Andor on our screens will probably return in 2024. And if history truly serves as a guide, it will probably happen in mid- to late-2024. Gilroy informed us earlier this month that Season 2 production will start this week and end in August 2023, making it unlikely that Season 2 would air before the end of the current calendar year.
