Amber alert canceled after 11-year-old girl found safe in Hartford, father in custody

East Hartford police have canceled an Amber Alert for an 11-year-old girl after locating her safely in Hartford. The child's father has been taken into police custody. Police issued the Amber Alert just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, for the 11-year-old girl who was last seen in Manchester on Friday evening with her father.

Authorities believed the child was with her father, who was the subject of a federal warrant, as he attempted to flee the area with her. The girl and her father were located in Hartford shortly after the Amber Alert was issued. The father is now in police custody.

Police confirmed the girl is safe and was not harmed during the incident. The Amber Alert has been officially canceled following her safe recovery. The case involved a missing child situation that developed over approximately 20 hours, from Friday evening when she was last seen until Saturday afternoon when the Amber Alert was issued and resolved.
