Amazon workers plan big strike during Holiday season across many countries in the world; here are dates and countries that will be affected

Through recent reports and claims it has been known that the workers of Amazon nearly all over the world are planning for a strike during the peak holiday season.

Amazon workers across more than 20 countries which include the US are actually planning to strike from Black Friday through Cyber Monday as part of the 'Make Amazon Pay’ campaign, reported New York Post. This initiative aims to hold the company accountable for alleged labor abuses, environmental degradation and threats to democracy.

According to New York Post, organizers from UNI Global Union and Progressive International stated that the strikes are intended to unify workers globally against the corporate exploitation.

The protests will take place in major cities worldwide which will be including the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Brazil, India and Turkey, asserted New York Post. Striking workers will be supported by various unions and advocacy groups.

This will eventually mark the fifth consecutive year of coordinated strikes during the holiday shopping season which is a time when Amazon experiences significant sales volume.

In response to the planned strikes, Amazon has accused the organizers of promoting a misleading narrative about their treatment of employees. The company claims to provide competitive pay and benefits while creating over 1.5 million jobs globally, noted New York Post.

In spite of Amazon's assertions, several union leaders have emphasized on the fact that workers are demanding fair treatment and respect for their rights. The upcoming strikes are expected to disrupt operations during one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year while potentially affecting delivery schedules for customers.
