E-commerce giant Amazon will be holding the Prime Day sale on October 11 and 12. The upcoming shopping bonanza is called "Prime Early Access Sale" and will be available only to Amazon Prime subscribers. According to reports, hundreds of thousands of deals will be up for grabs during the event.
The Prime Day events were first started in 2015 and took place once every year. However, the upcoming event in October is the first time that such an event is taking place twice in the same year. The event was affected in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, though the giant corporation category-specific sales for apparel, pet products, and beauty products.
Amazon’s move to organize a mega sale for prime members is in line with many retailers' targeting October for shopping bonanzas. Many retailers across the country have announced mega deals before Black Friday and Cyber Monday for online purchases. The Prime Early Access Sale might also help Amazon to build momentum for the subsequent holiday season, which the company is desperate to find due to the slowing business.
