Deadpool & Wolverine, The Gilded Age S2, and The Killer’s Game top this week’s Amazon releases
This week’s digital and DVD releases on Amazon may be quieter than usual, but fans of superhero action and hit shows still have plenty to look forward to. From the irreverent antics of Deadpool to the thrilling return of Wolverine, October kicks off with a mix of must-have movies and binge-worthy series for your collection.

For movie fans, the highly anticipated DVD and Blu-ray releases offer bonus features and, in the case of Blu-ray, a Digital code. But for those unwilling to wait, the biggest digital releases of the week are almost here, led by Deadpool & Wolverine, promising action-packed entertainment for audiences eager to watch immediately.

Deadpool and Wolverine

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) is the new installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing together two fan-favorite superheroes in an action-packed adventure. Directed by Shawn Levy and co-written by Levy, Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells, the film stars Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

The story follows Deadpool teaming up with a reluctant Wolverine from another universe to stop the Time Variance Authority from destroying his world. Produced by Marvel Studios, Maximum Effort, and 21 Laps Entertainment, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

The film also features Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Aaron Stanford, and Matthew Macfadyen.

The Gilded Age Season 2

If you are not in the mood for a Marvel movie, there is more to the list.

Season 2 of The Gilded Age arrives on DVD this week, continuing the story from Season 1. The new episodes explore how the women navigate changing power dynamics and societal expectations in a rapidly evolving world.

Sebastian

For those in the mood for a thought-provoking drama, Sebastian is worth a watch. Interestingly, the title doesn’t reflect the main character’s real name. The story follows Max, who takes up sex work as research for his debut novel, offering an unflinching look at the realities of the profession rather than romanticizing it.

The Killer’s Game

The action-crime thriller The Killer’s Game stars Dave Bautista. The film follows a top hitman diagnosed with a terminal illness who plans to go out on his own terms, with a hit on himself. But when the hitmen also target his pregnant ex-girlfriend, he must fight to protect her while grappling with the possibility of winning her back.
