They will be joined in the sharpshooting showdown by Sonia Citron (Washington Mystics), Kelsey Plum (Los Angeles Sparks), and defending champion Allisha Gray (Atlanta Dream), who also won last year’s skills competition.
Friday’s festivities will also feature the WNBA Skills Challenge, with Gray set to compete again alongside Skylar Diggins and Erica Wheeler (Seattle Storm), Courtney Williams (Minnesota Lynx), and Natasha Cloud (New York Liberty). The WNBA All-Star Game is scheduled for Saturday.
Clark, who skipped last year’s WNBA 3-point contest and turned down an invitation to the NBA All-Star Weekend in February, enters the event shooting 28.9% from beyond the arc this season - hampered in part by leg injuries. Ionescu is hitting 30.9% from deep, while Plum ranks seventh in the league at 35.0%, and Gray leads the field at 38.9%.
Despite her current struggles, Clark brings a stellar collegiate resume, having shot 37.7% from 3-point range at Iowa while setting the Division I scoring record with 3,951 points. Last season, she led the WNBA with 122 made threes and ranked seventh at 34.4% from deep.
