Aliens? Unique radio signal detected from deep space

Astronomers posit that certain FRBs may be attributed to a specific type of neutron star known as a magnetar.

A group of astronomers claims to have identified an unprecedented radio signal that provides new insights into the enigma of unexplored regions of deep space.

This signal, referred to as a Fast Radio Burst (FRB), represents a brief burst of radio light lasting only milliseconds and originating from regions beyond our Milky Way galaxy.

While certain FRBs exhibit repetitive patterns, a recent research paper published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society has uncovered a distinctively active repeating FRB signal with unique characteristics previously unseen.

Notably, the signal displays an unprecedented variation in pitch, resembling a cosmic slide-whistle when converted into a sound clip using a xylophone. According to scientists at the SETI Institute, the high-pitched notes are situated at the clip's commencement, transitioning to low-pitched notes towards the end—akin to someone playing a xylophone and repeatedly striking the lowest note.

Astronomers posit that certain FRBs may be attributed to a specific type of neutron star known as a magnetar. These neutron stars boast exceptionally powerful magnetic fields and constitute the remnants of deceased stars.

FAQs:
