Las Vegas (18-14) endured a rough start, surrendering 31 first-quarter points and trailing 45-33 less than five minutes into the second. The Aces responded with a lockdown stretch, holding Connecticut (5-25) scoreless for 5:45 during a 12-0 run that tied the game by halftime.
Their defensive intensity continued after the break, limiting the Sun to as many points in the second and third quarters combined as they allowed in the opening period. That turnaround turned an early double-digit deficit into a late third-quarter double-digit lead.
Wilson, a three-time league MVP, notched her third double-double in the last four games and third straight outing with at least 27 points. She secured her 20th rebound in the final minute, matching the mark she set on July 10, 2024, in Seattle, earning a standing ovation from the home crowd.
Marina Mabrey led Connecticut with 22 points, including 13 in the first quarter, and hit 5-of-13 from deep. Rookie Saniya Rivers scored 17 off the bench, while Leila Lacan had 13. Tina Charles, limited to eight points, saw her eight-game double-figure scoring streak end.
The Sun fell to 0-3 on their current road trip, which wraps up Monday in San Francisco against Golden State.
