Many passengers reported long queues at airports all across the UK due to the bank holiday weekend. These queues are more than two hours long, and thus a lot of chaos was created at the airport.

"After I landed in England from Saudi Arabia, I had to wait more than two and half hours at the airport security queue due to a lot of crowd," said one of the passengers at Heathrow airport.

Many travellers also said, "We were told to arrive early by our flight carriers at the airport to avoid missing our flights due to heavy rush at the airport."

Pictures of hundreds of holidaymakers standing in long queues at Birmingham, Gatwick and Manchester airports either for security checks or waiting for their passports went viral on social media.

The spokesperson from Heathrow Airport said, "We would like to extend the apologies to our passengers due to such long queues, but we would also like to inform them that we are working with the Border Force to solve the existing issues as soon as possible."

Just like Heathrow Airport, the Manchester Airport is also facing the issue of long queues; thus, they have advised travellers to arrive at least three hours before their flights so that further problems can be avoided.

The spokesperson from Manchester Airport said, "We are trying our best to address the issue, and its a very crucial time as we are also trying to recover from the worst two years of the airline industry. We have also made some strong recruitments, but we have still fallen short of staff. Thus we would like to apologise to our passengers who had to waste their valuable time standing in long queues."

It's not just flyers who are facing problems due to banking holidays, but the rail passengers are also facing the issues of travelling due to disruption in engineering projects and strike action.

TransPennine Express, which operates in Scotland and across northern England, has urged the passengers not to plan any travel during the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, because of the walkout by conductors of the Transport, Maritime and Rail Union.
