Elon Musk has responded to a report from AI benchmarking platform LMArena, which states that OpenAI’s latest model has secured the number one spot across all major AI performance categories.

OpenAI’s GPT-4.5 has been identified as the most advanced AI model currently available.

According to the report, GPT-4.5 dominates areas such as multi-turn conversations, complex prompts, coding, mathematics, creative writing, instruction following and long-form queries.


Elon Musk’s response

Musk reacted to the news with a brief comment on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Not for long.”

His remark is widely seen as a signal that his AI startup, xAI, is preparing to challenge OpenAI’s dominance with its chatbot, Grok, according to a report in The Times of India.

LMArena’s AI performance rankings

LMArena highlighted the performance of OpenAI’s GPT-4.5, stating that it now leads the Arena leaderboard. According to the platform, GPT-4.5 secured the top rank with over 3,000 votes across all categories.
