Actor-singer Jennifer Lopez returns to the action genre for Netflix this May. Portraying Atlas Shepherd, a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst, she exhibits deep distrust for Artificial Intelligence in the trailer, reports 'The Hollywood Reporter'. It involves hunting down a murderous AI to try and save humanity. 'Harlan' (Simu Liu) is an AI program created to help humanity, but it tries to destroy it. Atlas, portrayed by Lopez, spends her life hunting this AI.

In an attempt to nab Haraln, the AI, Jennifer Lopez goes on a mission to another planet, but she and her team are attacked there and she ejects herself from the ship in a giant robot suit.

The two-minute-48-second trailer shows violence, action and ground-pounding carnage. In the spirit of a truly science-fiction, Lopez goes to a far-off planet to capture a renegade robot. She teams up with a computer program named Smith.


AI program Smith

'Atlas' distrust for the AI is so deep that she openly declares at a point in time, "I don’t need your help. I don’t trust any AI." But in contrast, she also has an AI program Smith, who secures her cooperation and the two join forces against Harlan.

Release Date

'Atlas' is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on May 24, 2024.
'Atlas' has been Written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite. Best known for 'Rampage' and 'San Andreas', Brad Peyton has directed it.
