The controversy around DeepSeek AI continues and now it is South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS)' recent finding that has fueled another AI-based discussion, this time around DeepSeek's tailored answers.

South Korean intelligence unveils 'new secret'

According to a Daily Express US report, The NIS found that DeepSeek AI gives answers to prompts on the basis of the user's location or the language in which the question is being prompted. An example of the same is the country of origin of 'kimchi'. NIS reported that when this question was posed in Korean, DeepSeek AI replied that Kimchi's origin could be traced back to Korea. But, when this same question was posed in Chinese, the new AI model claimed that the origin of the same is in China.

NIS also claimed that DeepSeek AI provides personal information of users to advertisers and on occasion, may also comply with China's laws of providing private data of users to the Chinese government upon request, says the Daily Express US report. South Korea now joins the likes of Italy, Australia, and Taiwan in restricting the access of DeepSeek AI for its government employees owing to security concerns. Meanwhile, government employees were also warned about the usage of ChatGPT in the workplace, and how it should be dealt with very cautiously.
