After winning Emmy, Adele now eyes Tony Award to achieve 'EGOT'

Popular singer and songwriter Adele, who won the Creative Arts Emmy Awards last night, and now she is one step closer to achieving the EGOT status for herself. Adele won for her CBS special of the Pre-recorded song, One Night Only. EGOT denotes an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. Currently, under her belt, Adele has numerous Grammy Awards and one Academy Award for the best original song category. To achieve the exclusive EGOT status, Adele now just requires one Tony Award.

Adele’s Interview With Oprah Winfrey

Last November, a special show aired that involved an interview with Oprah Winfrey in a sit-down manner. It was said to be Adele’s first televised interview where she had a wide-ranging conversation about her new album, 30. In the interview with Oprah Winfrey, Adele discussed the backstory of her songs, how she delta her divorce and life post-it, her weight loss, and how she’s raising her son as a single mother.

When Oprah Winfrey asked Adele about her divorce and managing her family, she said that her life completely changed after her divorce. She was so disappointed in herself and primarily for her son. She thought she had snatched something from her son. She thought she had to be the one who had to stop whining and making all those bloody patterns every time.


Adele also spoke about her special Grammy win for the song “Hello.” After six years, it was her comeback. Adele previewed three songs from her fourth studio named, and they are Love Is a Game, Hold On, and I Drink Wine.

Five Nominations For One Night Only in the Emmy Awards

In the 2022 Emmy Awards, Adele’s One Night Only was nominated in five categories. The said categories are directing for a variety of specials, sound mixing for a variety series or special and technical direction/ camerawork/ video control for a special, and lighting design/ lighting direction for a variety of special.

Adele has now passed Lady Gaga to be the EGOT title holder. Lady Gaga was also nominated for the particular category and Tony Bennett for the song One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga.

The recent person to join the EGOT club is Jennifer Hudson. In 2022, after winning the Tony Award on June 13 for best musical as a producer for her A Strange Loop, she joined the EGOT club.
