After widespread backlash, Donald Trump budges on taking over Gaza, says there is no commitment to putting boots on the ground
The US President Donald Trump administration following the widespread backlash it faced is now actually budging on taking over Gaza and also asserted that there are no such commitments to putting boots on the ground.

According to The Wrap, Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarified that the ‘take over’ is to actually mean an ‘offer to rehabilitate and oversee the reconstruction’ of Gaza. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also put an emphasis on the fact that any relocation of Palestinians would be temporary to allow for reconstruction while arguing that Gaza is currently uninhabitable.
She also stated that the US would not finance the rebuilding of Gaza and the American involvement ‘does not imply military presence’.
In spite of the walk back, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has now instructed the military to prepare a plan for the ‘voluntary departure’ of Gaza residents, asserted The Wrap. However, during such times, UN representative Riyad Mansour and other Palestinian representatives have totally rejected the idea of leaving their homeland.
UN officials have issued a significant warning that any sort of forced removal of Palestinians would be ‘tantamount to ethnic cleansing’ whereas House Speaker Mike Johnson have already applauded US President Donald Trump's ‘bold, decisive action’, noted The Wrap.
