Jennette McCurdy claimed that Nickelodean once offered her $300,000 as hush money to keep mum about her experiences with 'The Creator'. She has made the claim in her upcoming memoir, which is titled "I'm Glad My Mom Died." McCurdy was a familiar face on Nickelodeon in the early 2010s and late 2000s. She starred in Sam & Cat and iCarly. Sam & Cat also starred Ariana Grande.

I'm Glad My Mom Died's excerpt has scenes from a dinner with 'The Creator' when Sam & Cat was under development. It also includes a scene in the latter part of the show's days when 'The Creator' was accused of misconduct.

McCurdy seems relieved that Sam & Cat was cancelled after a single season. McCurdy said that her teams of agents, managers, and lawyers told her that Nickelodeon was ready to offer $300,000 just to keep mum about her experiences with 'The Creator'. After mentioning this, she wrote, "Specifically related to The Creator."

McCurdy said she turned down the offer immediately and second-guessed her decision sometimes or others. She wrote that Nickelodeon was offering her hush money to keep quiet about The Creator's abuse, and why should she not share her personal experiences?

She added that Nickelodeon is a children's network, and they should have a moral compass and some ethical standards. Nickelodeon did not readily comment on this.

In the excerpt, she also mentions how the dinner was uncomfortable for her and says that 'The Creator' wanted her to drink when she was still 18. He laid his hand on her knees later on. She mentions how 'The Creator' took off his coat and placed it on her shoulders before massaging her because he thought she was cold.
