After getting shot in face, woman police officer gets released from rehab
Lina Mino, a Sansom Park police officer who was shot in the face during a training exercise, was released on December 2 from in-patient rehab. Many officers from police departments were present there to celebrate Mino's release.

After being shot in the face during a police training exercise, Lina Mino, a Sansom Park police officer, was released from in-patient rehab on December 2. She was shot in the face last month. Several officers from police departments in Fort Worth, White Settlement, Mansfield, Westworth Village, Westover Hills, and Boyd were present to celebrate Mino's release from the rehab.
In the month of November, an unexplained live round of ammunition hit Mino during a training exercise which took place at a school in Forest Hill. Mino had suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Soon after the incident, a reserved deputy constable in Johnson County was suspended.
Earlier this week, at a fundraising event for Mino, Samson Park police chief James Burchfield stated that he was confident that Lina Mino would return to duty. While praising her, the police chief said they could guarantee that Mino's attitude would bring her back to work "one day." The police chief said they would wait for her whenever she could return.
