Vinicius Jr, the rising star of Real Madrid, is eager to assume a significant role at the club, especially with Karim Benzema's departure. As per reports from MARCA, Vinicius has been diligently training to become the team's penalty taker for the 2023-24 season. However, this ambition may be challenged if Real Madrid manages to sign Kylian Mbappe, who would likely take the lead in the offense, including penalty duties.

Undeniably, Vinicius has shown tremendous improvement in the past two seasons, evident from his goal-scoring prowess, which earned him the iconic No. 7 shirt for the upcoming season. With Benzema's departure, the young Brazilian is willing to embrace more responsibility and leadership on the pitch.

According to Diario AS, Vinicius has been dedicating extra time on the training pitch to perfect his penalty-taking skills. This demonstrates his determination to excel and take on crucial roles for the team.

Vinicius joined Real Madrid in 2018, and while his initial years were challenging, he has flourished in the past two campaigns, scoring 22 and 23 goals in the 2021-22 and the recent seasons, respectively. As a result of his outstanding performances, he has become the face of the team.

The duty of penalty-taking at Real Madrid was historically handled by players like Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo, with Karim Benzema being the most recent in charge. Now, Vinicius aspires to follow in the footsteps of these legends and make penalty-taking his own responsibility.

Nonetheless, the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe could alter the dynamics. Mbappe, being a proven superstar, would likely be given leadership in the offensive department, including taking penalties. This could mean that Vinicius' aspirations may need to be adjusted accordingly.

With the departure of Benzema, the young forward has a golden opportunity to step up and prove his mettle, both as a goal scorer and a penalty taker. Whether or not Real Madrid secures the signing of Mbappe, Vinicius' dedication and hard work indicate his readiness to embrace the challenges and responsibilities that come with wearing the No. 7 shirt and potentially being the club's penalty taker.
