Instead of staying quiet, the two were spotted at a local restaurant celebrating. Alize shared the moment on Instagram Story alongside Newell, showing them enjoying drinks, while Newell was seen mid-sip with the caption, “No BETTER way to spend a Saturday.”
Alize also took to Twitter, posting, “Have SOOOO much to say,” and retweeting fans demanding real wins and respect for the team. Newell didn’t comment directly but supported the sentiment by reposting similar tweets.
Originally, Melo and Jay were set to walk away with the victory, but with Newell and Alize refusing to compete, AEW quickly substituted Hyan and Maya World for the match.
Neither wrestler currently holds an AEW contract. Newell, released from WWE on November 1, 2024, described her post-WWE run as a “nightmare” due to lack of bookings, while Alize, who previously had a steady role in Ring of Honor during the Sinclair era, is also pursuing opportunities with major promotions.
Regarding the reaction within the AEW locker room, tpww reported that several talents who know and like both women expressed their dissatisfaction with how the situation was handled.
