The latest report suggests that the popularity of CM Punk in the AEW locker room wasn’t much despite his massive fan following and obvious huge name.

CM Punk was greeted with huge cheers from his hometown of Chicago when he made his AEW debut in “Rampage: The First Dance” episode on August 20, 2021. He had laudable feuds with the likes of MJF and Eddie Kingston.

According to Keller, Punk’s alleged salary hike is the main reason behind the prevailing jealousy in the locker room. He said that many wrestlers think their “potential push” was delayed because of Punk and that their “spot on the card” moved down a score.

The rosters expected Punk would bring a never seen height to the promotion. But their expectations didn’t become a reality because of the sluggish ascension of numbers, resulting in an eventual deterioration of patience, the Journalist noted.
