The latest report suggests that the popularity of CM Punk in the AEW locker room wasn’t much despite his massive fan following and obvious huge name.
CM Punk was greeted with huge cheers from his hometown of Chicago when he made his AEW debut in “Rampage: The First Dance” episode on August 20, 2021. He had laudable feuds with the likes of MJF and Eddie Kingston.
Moreover, Punk was a major attraction as more than 200,000 buyers were drawn to the AEW All Out 2021. He also defeated Darby Allin in the said event, and this feat was huge because the match was his first in seven years.
However, a wedge was drawn between CM Punk and the rest of the AEW roster as he drew power, according to Wade Keller of PWTorch. Many people may believe that being a star attraction means having enough authority, but it was not the case with CM Punk.
