Justin Roiland currently awaits trial on charges of felony domestic violence against a former partner. After the allegations first surfaced, the American cable channel Adult Swim issued a statement on January 25 that it has ended its association with Roiland, who along with Dan Harmon created the popular animated sci-fi sitcom, ‘Rick and Morty’.
‘Rick and Morty’ is about a mad scientist and his grandson and the voice is also provided by the two creators. Adult Swim also said that season 7 is currently in the works with “the talented and dedicated crew”. Rick and Morty have previously aired six seasons on Cartoon Network as part of Adult Swim night-time programming block and was renewed for another edition.
Justin Roiland, 42 was charged with corporal injury and false imprisonment by menace, fraud, violence or deceit against the woman, according to the criminal complaint by Orange County prosecutors obtained by The Associated Press. The woman in the complaint is reportedly the same person that the ‘Rick and Morty’ co-creator was living with at the time. While the woman was left unnamed, Roiland has pleaded not guilty.
