Add captions to images on Google Docs; Check the step-by-step guide here
While working on google docs, many people wish to add captions but find it challenging to do the same. Let’s see how it is done.

Use Inline Text to Caption Your Image
• The simplest solution is to insert the text below the image and utilize an inline format for your image. This presupposes that your image has previously been placed.
• Click "In Line" in the toolbar after selecting the image.
• Put your cursor underneath the picture, then start typing the caption. The top toolbar can then be used to pick the text and format its size, alignment, and style.
How to put the caption in your image through drawing?
• The aforementioned technique for adding a caption functions admirably, but it separates the caption from the image. Therefore, you might prefer the Drawing option if you intend to move items around in your document. You won't start with the image in your document if you choose this option.
• Place your cursor where the image and caption should be in the document. then select New from the menu under Insert > Drawing.
• To upload, look for, or add a picture, select the "Image" button from the toolbar.
• Write your caption in the text box after you've drawn it. If you'd like, you can format your text using the toolbar's font settings. The text box can then be moved around to align appropriately with your image.
Add Caption by using a table
• Put your cursor where the image and caption should be in the document. Select a "1 x 2" table by selecting Insert > Table from the menu. You will then have a table with one column and two cells.
• Insert your image in the top cell. You can drag a picture into a cell if it is already present in your document.
• Enter your caption in the cell that is below the picture. As with any other text in your project, you can select the text and format it using the toolbar.
• Right-click the table and select "Table Properties," or use the menu to select Format > Table > Table Properties.
• Your image and caption will now be in an unseen table. If you choose to relocate the image, this option, like the drawing option above, keeps the caption with it.
Use an Add-On to Caption Your Image
• Once you've installed the add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace, using it is simple. Select Caption Maker under Add-Ons. begin with the menu
• You can make some adjustments in the sidebar that appears if you'd like. For instance, you can structure the captions by clicking "Show Options" and checking the box to caption the tables as well.
• Click "Captionize" when you're ready to add your captions. Following that, you will see numbered captions next to each image in your document.
