Actor Marty York's mother found dead in apartment; arrest warrant for boyfriend issued

Deputy Deanna Esmaeel of Northern California, mother of actor Marty York was found dead in her Crescent City residence, as reported by the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office.

After discovering the body, authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Daniel James Walter, Esmaeel's boyfriend, who was last seen near her home on the day of the incident.

Walter was later apprehended in Curry County, Oregon after his black Mazda sedan was located by law enforcement.


Deputy Esmaeel, who transitioned herself into an officer was earlier working as an animal trainer on film sets.

Esmaeel’s son, popularly known for his role in the 1993 film "The Sandlot," expressed his profound grief on social media, stating, "The emotions I have are horrible right now between rage, vengeance, crying."

According to Del Norte County court records obtained by SF Gate, Walter had previously faced charges in March for unauthorized entry into a dwelling. The specific details of this incident remain undisclosed.

Del Norte County Sheriff Garrett Scott conveyed the profound sorrow felt by the entire department.

"Our hearts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and co-workers," said Scott.
