Actor Gary Busey charged with criminal sexual activity. All you need to know

American actor Gary Busey was charged with two instances of criminal sexual activity in the fourth degree, one alleged criminal sexual activity, and one count of harassing, Cherry Hill police. The alleged sexual assault by the 78-year-old actor happened during a fan event in New Jersey.

The incident occurred at the Convention of the annual Monster Mania held from August 12 to August 14 at the Doubletree Hotel in Cherry Hill, a Philadelphia suburb.

Busey, who resides in Malibu, California, intended to attend the entire three days of the event.


At least three women complained to authorities, according to Fox29Philly, that Busey mismanage them while signing autographs at a meet and greet. Police stated that now that the accusations have been made public, they anticipate more people to come forward.



The actor was the subject of "several allegations," according to the police, the Philadelphia Inquirer said.

Lieutenant Robert Scheunemann of Cherry Hill said to the Inquirer, "It was about contact." It has to do with touching.

Busey was scheduled to be a prominent guest for each of Monster-Mania Con's three days, but after the claims became public, he took him out of the remaining events.

Busey is mostly known for playing supporting roles, although his portrayal of the lead character in the 1978 film "The Buddy Holly Story" first brought him fame and an Oscar nomination.
