One-time child actor, Evan Ellingson, best remembered in the iconic 2009 movie "My Sister's Keeper" has passed away at the shockingly young age of 35. The actor who hasn't been back to the screen in over a decade, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday at his home in San Bernardino. The reason for his passing has not been made public yet.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's coroners division reported that Ellingson was found deceased in a bedroom at his Fontana, California residence at 11:31 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5.

TMZ was the first to break this somber news, with Ellingson's father confirming to the outlet that the actor had been grappling with addiction and, ultimately, passed away while in a facility dedicated to addiction recovery.


Evan Ellingson's memorable portrayal of Jesse in the 2009 cancer drama "My Sister's Keeper" continues to be a highlight in his career. He shared the screen with celebrated actors, including Cameron Diaz, Alec Baldwin, Abigail Breslin, and Jason Patric.

Additionally, Ellingson, who had been away from the entertainment scene for over a decade, had played the role of David Caruso's Lt. Horatio Caine's son on the renowned show "CSI: Miami." He also took on the character of Kiefer Sutherland's famous persona, Jack Bauer's nephew, in "24."

Information from his IMDb profile reveals that the actor's upbringing was in La Verne, California, alongside his three brothers. His journey into the world of acting began with a chance discovery at a skate park, leading to an invitation to skate for the Vans PeeWee team and a role in a commercial for the Vans Company, all thanks to his distinctive talent and charisma.

Reflecting on his experiences while promoting "CSI: Miami" in 2009, Ellingson shared with The Philippine Star, "I never had the same [childhood] experience with my friends. I never had more time with them. However, my childhood was a cool one. I was busy doing the things I love." He added, "I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early on."
