Act now: Popular US banking app closing — April 29 deadline for all transactions
A popular banking app has shut down and up to 500,000 customers are affected, so users are being told to act quickly before their data disappears. The banking app called Seis stopped working officially on February 27, ending its services completely. The app was mainly used by Spanish-speaking customers in the United States for everyday banking.

The service was discontinued by Zelle, and CEO Trevor McKendrick said changing immigration patterns reduced demand for the app. Users now have until April 29 to view their transaction history and account statements inside the app, as stated by The Sun. After April 29, customers will no longer be able to access payment logs or account details.

April 29 deadline

The company advised users to log in and download or take screenshots to save their data before the deadline. Important documents users should save include tax papers, proof of income, and full transaction history. The deadline to withdraw money or transfer funds to another bank was February 26. Customers who missed the withdrawal deadline will receive a check sent to their last address on file.

Checks sent to users

These checks may take six to eight weeks to arrive, the company said. This means some users may receive their money between mid-April and the end of April, as per the report by The Sun. Any payments sent to Seis after the closure date will be rejected and returned to the sender. The app previously offered services like checking accounts, debit cards, and credit products through a Spanish-language interface.

Customers are also being warned to contact banks carefully to avoid scams during closures. Experts say users should only call official phone numbers listed on bank websites to avoid fraud. Some banks also provide secure online helplines to connect with representatives safely. Customers should verify any unexpected bank contact by calling a trusted number themselves. Scammers often pretend to be bank representatives to steal personal information from worried customers.
