Apple TV+ has officially renewed 'Acapulco' for a fourth season. This news comes two months after the conclusion of the third season. The show has also received recognition with nine nominations at the Imagen Awards, which celebrate the achievements of Latinos in television and film. Among these nominations, 'Acapulco' is in the running for best comedy, and seven cast members have been nominated for acting awards.

Storyline

'Acapulco' is based on Eugenio Derbez's film 'How to Be a Latin Lover.' The series follows the character Máximo, portrayed as both a young man and in the present day. The young Máximo, played by Enrique Arrizón, works at a resort in the 1980s, striving to climb the ladder of success. In contrast, the older Máximo returns to the same resort in the present day, only to find it changed beyond recognition. The third season focused on the young Máximo's rise, which put some of his relationships at risk.

The series features a diverse cast, including Eugenio Derbez, Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Vanessa Bauche, Regina Reynoso, Raphael Alejandro, Jessica Collins, Chord Overstreet, Rafael Cebrián, Regina Orozco and Carlos Corona. The show's creators are Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros and Jason Shuman. Winsberg, Derbez, and Chris Harris serve as executive producers alongside Kim and Eric Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang from The Tannenbaum Company. Jaime Eliezer Karas directs the series, with Sonia Gambaro from 3Pas Studios as a co-executive producer.
