Relaunching and intensifying its campaign, the Abandon Biden movement is concentrating its efforts in crucial swing states on Vice President Kamala Harris. Ramping up efforts in key swing states to rally Muslim-Americans and their allies against the Harris-Walz ticket, the campaign announced in a statement posted on X last week.

The Abandon Harris campaign stated in the release that this action is a direct response to Kamala Harris' support for the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Along with movements such as the Vote Uncommitted movement that bubbled up in Dearborn around the same time, the campaigns were able to get over 100,000 voters to cast uncommitted ballots during the Michigan primary earlier this year.

Tensions between Harris and the campaign's leaders have persisted as the vice president has not fully committed to their demands. Biden's withdrawal from the race in July and Harris's ascent to the top of the ticket seemed to have opened the possibility that movement members could mobilize support for the Democratic ticket.

They are not interested in hollow rhetoric, empty platitudes, or shallow calls for a ceasefire while the Biden-Harris administration continues to send weapons to Israel, enabling the indiscriminate slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza and fueling a wider regional conflict, the campaign stated in a release. Words without meaningful action are meaningless, and the continued complicity in these atrocities will not be tolerated, as reported by Fox News.

The group was successful in expanding its influence from Michigan to Wisconsin during the primary season, two crucial swing states in November's election. The last two presidential elections in both states were decided by extremely narrow margins, so the absence of support from a group that has tended to lean Democratic for the majority of the last 20 years could be a deciding factor in the states.

Abandon Harris, a campaign against the party that supports the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza has slim leads in Michigan and Wisconsin. It has not backed the campaign of former president Donald Trump but encouraged its supporters to vote against genocide and for the third party. Abandon Harris has not endorsed any third-party candidate and accepts the realistic fact that there is nothing Harris can do to reclaim the support of such voters.
