A24 movies head to HBO, Max; 'Priscilla,' 'Iron Claw' among exclusives in new deal

In a major development, Warner Bros. Discovery has entered into a multiyear output agreement with A24, securing exclusive rights to the entertainment company's film slate on HBO, Max, and Cinemax after their theatrical releases. This collaboration follows the expiration of A24's previous deal with Showtime earlier this year.

A24, known for its diverse and acclaimed films, brings a compelling lineup under this new deal, including Sofia Coppola’s "Priscilla," Sean Durkin’s "The Iron Claw," and Kristoffer Borgli’s comedy "Dream Scenario." Noteworthy additions encompass "Dicks: The Musical," the 2023 rerelease of "Stop Making Sense," and "Civil War" directed by Alex Garland.

The partnership extends beyond new releases, with an additional agreement to license A24's library of movies on HBO and Max, presenting subscribers with an expanded selection of over 100 titles. This collection features acclaimed films like "Everything Everywhere All at Once," "Uncut Gems," "The Whale," and "Past Lives." Royce Battleman, EVP of Content Acquisitions for Warner Bros. Discovery, emphasized the value this collaboration adds to HBO and Max, offering a diverse range of stories to their audience.
