A League of Their Own Season 2 was supposed to be the final season of the series. While the first season released eight episodes, the second season was supposed to be four episodes.
However, as reported by Variety, due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood by writers and actors, A League of Their Own 2 had to be canceled.
Amazon Prime Video also put a halt to its series The Peripheral Season 2 owing to the strikes.
What is A League of Their Own about?
'A League of Their Own' series is based on the 1992 film of the same name, which was directed by Penny Marshall. The film starred Abbi Jacobson, D’Arcy Carden, Chante Adams, Melanie Field, and Kate Berlant.
The Amazon series said it told “the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball. The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their paths towards the field, both in the league and outside of it.”
