71% of Americans haven't heard of Tim Walz, Harris' VP pick

Tim Walz is largely unknown. Will it help the Democrats as it will force the Trump campaign to spend precious time and resources to define Walz? They will not be able to focus on Kamala Harris during that period.

71% of Americans haven't heard of Tim Walz, Harris' VP pick
Though Democrat contender Kamala Harris hopes to consolidate her position in three Midwestern states of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania by choosing Tim Walz as her running mate for the November 5 election, a whopping majority of US voters do not know him at all. According to an NPR/PBS/Marist poll published Tuesday, 71% of respondents said they had never heard of Walz. They also said they have no opinion of him. Harris preferred him over Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.

Will Tim Walz be an asset?

However, CNBC thinks being largely unknown will be an asset for the Democrats as it will force Trump's campaign to spend precious time and resources to define Walz in the eyes of voters. They will not be able to focus on Kamala Harris during that period. It is evident by the fact that the Trump campaign went live with a webpage titled “Meet Governor Tim Walz” immediately after he was chosen as the running mate.

According to the business news outlet, the Trump campaign is preparing a detailed plan to attack Walz.
